Christmas was wonderful!

With this being Rylyn's first Christmas, we had a lot of fun with her. It took only about 2 seconds to figure out the gift thing. When she was not opening her stuff she tryed to help the closest person. It was cute.

I am really glad that noone got carried away this year with buying gifts for others. I did make some last minute gifts. Last Thursday I started a pair of mittens for Josh but ended up making them into fingerless gloves for my niece. I then went to Joanns and grabbed wool ease to make Josh his, which ended up fingerless as I thought he would like them better. So I proved to myself that I can make Mittens in about a day for a pair as long as they are a simple pattern.

Rick got me my ball winder and an M & M racecar candy dispenser. I love them both. I have not played with the ball winder yet. I hope to play tonight.

I am looking forward to knitting tomorrow night as it will be the last time I will be there for the whole night for about 12 weeks and it is our christmas party.

YEAH!!!!! Finals are over!!!!!!

Well finals are done. I am so excited I got A"s on all three finals and have A's in all three classes. Like I said before this is the first is the first time that I received straight A's in all my clases. I was not the best student growing up. It shows that age has a lot to do thing how well I do in school.

Well I have off until January 3rd. Then I start another set of three classes, Interpersonal relations, Intro to Macroeconomic, and informational systems. I think I should do about the same in these classes.

On the knitting front I have been working on finishing Ry's sweater for Christmas. I might have it done, if not its ok. It would have been an extra gift. I still need to finish the second fingerless glove for Ry. I will have it done on thurday at knitting.

I need to get focused on some projets. I need to frog the sweater I was doing for myself and start it over. I want to work on the shawl after the first of the year. I want to focus on making at least one pair of socks a month plus working on other projects.

fingerless gloves

I finished the fingerless gloves last night for myself. They are wonderfully soft. I used casade 220 that I have left over from mittens I made for Al last year. I will be working on Ry's other one tonight and maybe tomorrow night depending on how much I get done tonight.

Report report

Report is now done and I can relax (well for a minute or two) I still have finals this Thursday and Next Monday and Tuesday. Well I did better than I thought on the presentation. I just went online to check my grade and I got 30 out 30. I think the instructor is really easy when it come to things like that, but I do not care I will take full points for my presentation. As of right now I should be getting A's in all my classes, 2 of them perfect A 100% of the points. I do not mean to should like I am bragging cuz I am not. I am just excited as I have never received perfect A's before.

I started on the other fingerless glove for my last night and hope to have it done or almost done by Thursday so I can work on Rys other glove.

All nerves

Well, Report on St. Jude Medical in St. Paul completed, Power Point ready. Now I have to present the report in front of the class. I hate this part. I get so nervous, I feel like I am the deepest shade of red, my heart pounds so hard I have a hard time breathing. I know their is nothing to worry about and most of the people in class feel the same way. I just do not want to do it. (pout, pout) :(:(. My paper is pretty good, so I shoudl do well on that part.

On the knitting front I made one (right hand) fingerless glove for me on saturday, I was going to make the other one on Sunday, but got this great idea to make some for Ry. Well I have her Right hand one done too. So I will be working on getting the other hand done for both of us this week while I study for finals next week. (Pic later)

Holidays

When I was about 2 years old my step dad bought me a dress that had a coat and a tam, since then the tam was lost but I have that dress and coat. Alley wore this dress when she was about a year and a half. Well this Thanksgiving I took it out of the closet and Ry wore it. We are going to pass this dress down. I was thinking that I might try to find yarn that would match and recreate the tam. I will be sending the dress to the cleaners as it has not been cleaned for a while and needs some TLC. I will then type up a list of approx. dates when the dress was worn and put it with the dress. I am going to seal it with the seal a meal so the air does not get to it. I hope that will help to preserve it.

Now onto two of my favorate parts of the holiday season. My Christmas village and my Christmas tree.
My holiday village started the year Rick and I got together. My mom started the village for us and we bought at least one piece every year. Other family members would buy us pieces too. We now have over thirty pieces. These pictures do not do the village justice, but here goes.

My christmas tree is the a two day project to put up. I have an fake tree and as I put the tree up one branch at a time I put one light on each individual branch on the large branch. That adds up to a ton of lights. I have not counted the light for about 6 years but the last time I counted I had approx 2,000 lights on the tree. You can honestly read by the tree. I Love my tree. Today I went to my moms and got some of her ornaments that she did not want anymore. It was great I got ornaments that we on my moms tree when she was a little girl. Some of them were ones that were on the tree my whole life and that I bought for my mom. Again the photos do not do justice.
