They were both so excited as neither of them have ever been on an airplane. Every time there was an announcement Ry would think her plane was going to leave without her. It was so cute. Alley called to me tell us that as she was walking to the gate they met the pilot and he told them to go to the cockpit on the plane. Then when they landed she called to let me know they also got upgrade to first class. What luck first flight and getting to fly first class. she will never want to fly any other way.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_egivKZ0-ljA/SnmqoPUYanI/AAAAAAAAAHs/gGUegJXIljs/s320/ry+at+ticket+counter.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366508039272163954" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_egivKZ0-ljA/SnmrTG1QG1I/AAAAAAAAAH8/-TlVeaeM-fc/s320/Alley+and+Ry+before+security.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366508775728487250" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_egivKZ0-ljA/Snmq8HPWoqI/AAAAAAAAAH0/sz6fTtH-WGc/s320/ry+before+security.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366508380700975778" />

Started a pair of stranded mittens

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 312px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_egivKZ0-ljA/Slv_Xk-v3LI/AAAAAAAAAHk/Oz1rH3oEEyI/s320/Hansa+Mitten.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358156962216271026" />

These are the mittens I decided to work on. I plan to work on losing more weight, strengthening my arms (this will help with my job), getting rid of the tire around my lower middle, and to get a butt (sitting on it for 16 years at a desk has made it pretty flat).

I hope to be down at least 2 more sizes by the time Alley gets married.

surgery update

Nick's surgery went well, It was suppose to take 3 hour and only took about 1 hour 45 minute. The doctor wants me to continue with the meds for another week to see if it is helping. He thinks the chest pain is stress so I need to learn breathing and relaxation techinques. If the pain continues then we will look at other option. So for now I am to try to lower the stress in my life. Like that is possible.

On the knitting front. I have finished the puppy hat and will post pics later, I made the small hat and it is alittle snug but will fit for this year. I started a pair of Monkey socks from Ry. There is not much new on this end. I continue to look for a new full time job. I have talked to my second part time job about a management position, but with the fact that I have not been there very long I do not think that it will happen any time soon.

On the knitting front I have have been working on market bags, dish clothes and sock. The yarn I have been using for the socks is amazingly soft it is On your toes bamboo. I love the feeling of it as I knit especially after spending hours working with kitchen cotton.

A friend from my knitting group has challanged all of us to enter a project into the Minnesota State Fair next year. I have been spending some time thinking about what I might want to make. I was thinking if I could get the yarn soon maybe I would try to get the spider web shawl done. Or I might try to make a sweater for Ry. All I know is that I want to make something that will challenge me but not send me over the top with frustration.

On Saturday we will be celebrating Ry's 2nd Birth with family. She is 2 today. It is so hard to believe that she has been around for two years. I remember a time when someone told me that my daughter should give her up for adoption. I am so blessed taht Al did not do that as Ry has been the best thing that has happened to our family in a long time.
Happy Birthday Ry
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_egivKZ0-ljA/SNlKLI-UAtI/AAAAAAAAAEc/yo-sI9AbA00/s320/shirt+tummy.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249308395924882130" />

Interview went well.

I had my interview today with Hamline University this morning. Last evening Rick and I took some books into the Book Corner used book store in Woodbury off Radio Dr. This store was recommended to us by a couple of our friend, so we thought we would try it. When we got there the owner was in the back so we waited for her to only be yelled at that we set our book on the wrong counter. We are OK we will move them. She made a snotty comment about not taking hard cover books unless they are new release or childrens books, Agian OK I will put them in the car.(From me)only to be told NO JUST LEAVE THEM! As she looked at what we had we looked around. Rick found a book he wanted so we went to the front to find out what kind of credit we had. To be told she was only going to buy 2 books, (she said that they are all Star Trek or hard cover) There was alot more than that as I had about 20 romance (soft cover) and Rick had 5 Star Trek. Our thought was OK we will take that credit. Rick did not know that the store policy (which is not posted anywhere) was that you can use your credit to pay for half of the cost and cash for the rest. He said he would used the credit to buy the book. Well that start her into a tyraid of how she was not a book exchange and she was tired of people thinking she was. I calmly said we had never been in her store before so we did not know her policy and she should not be yelling at us. She proceeded to yell some more about that she did not have to be nice to anyone and she was not a book exchange (she was rolling her eye looking at another customer). I then told her she had come highly recommended to us by couple of friends and do not appricate being treated like that. Only to be yelled at somemore so I told her to go to Hell and walked out of the store.

We then went to the other used book store in Woodbury on Woodlane. Where we were treated very kindly. The sales person at Mainstreet Bookseller was telling us how they are getting alot of business because of the Book Corner being so rude. She also told us that the owner of the Book Corner even slapped a customers hand for trying to look at a book she did not have shelved yet.

Thanks for reading the vent. It is only the second fleece I have spun so it is very irregular.

Well that is about it.

update on Ry

Well Ry came home from the hospital on Sunday morning. Saturday they needed to change her IV because it was twisted and Alley decided to give her a bottle to settle her down (She had not had a bottle since Monday). That was all it took for her to start drinking the amount they wanted plus. We are still waiting for some of the test results from the Mayo, but they felt it was ok for her to come home especially now that she really disliked the nurses and doctors. They would walk by her in the hall and she would start to scream. We will see how she does with doctors when she goes for her check up at the end of the week.

Wonderful weekend

My weekend started on Saturday as we (Rick and I) took the day off to go to the Woodbury garage sales. We many things we were looking for for the camper. I found a garage sale that was selling yarn I purchased 10 skeins of 85% cotton 15% silk. Two skeins of sock yarn roving all for $25.

In the afternoon we both had eye appointments. I do not need glasses yet he did say it will most likely be next year that I will need to get reading glasses. We then pulled the camper out of the garage and cleaned it for the first time. Rick took me out to dinner at a wonderful restaurant in Lake Elmo called Gormans.

Saturday the family went to the shepherds harvest for a few hours. I purchased some soysilk merino roving. I will be purchasing a drop spindle for lace weight to spin this roving. Rylyn loved to look at the "pacas" as she says it, and the bunnies. We did have to tell her the bunnies were like a friends dog to get her to pet it. She was not sure of the sheep making all that noise. we all have a great time.

On Sunday we spent most of the day at home then went to the mom inlaws for dinner. it was an alright day.

I wish I did not have to go back to work in the morning we had such a nice weekend.

What have I been up to.

Well I just realized today that I have not posted since my birthday. I had a great birthday, Yarn harlot was excellent. School has kept me busy. this quarter I have Comp 101, marketing and Microsoft office II (working with office 2007) which is interesting. I now work in 3 different versions of Microsoft office. School I have to use 2007, work is 97 and home is 2004 for Macs. All of which are very different to use. No wonder my brain feels like it is going in 20 different directions. I found out today that we start to register for summer quarter on monday and I hope there are HR class offered this summer so I can start to working on my major.

I have not done much in the knitting department. I am still working on my socks and dish clothes for a friend. i am looking forward to going to the shepherds harvest festival this weekend. I will be looking for roving to spin, and yarn to make the shawl. I will also be pricing spinning wheels as I really would like o buy one.

Time to celebrate

I am officially a NON SMOKER. According to the insurance companies you need to not smoke for 12 complete months to be considered a non smoker. YEAH I made it one year today. The process of quiting this time was not a difficult one, it has been trying to not shovel food in my mouth ever time I needed something. Which according to the scale I did not do a very good job at. So now the new goal for this next year is to loss all the weight that I gained over the past year.

I have tried to quite many times in the past that did not work. I am not usre why this time worked. All I know is that last year it was 4 days before my birthday and I decided that I was turning the big 40 and had grandchildren that I wanted to be around for, so I decided that on my birhtday I would stop smoking. I used the patch for about one week then forgot to put it on after that. From then out no more smoking. I was really supprised that I did not get to be my normal witch when I try to stop smoking. My family has commented many times that I was pleasent to be around.

I know most of my family and friend already know that this is my one year annivesary for not smoking, but I needed to put this in writing for myself. Thank you everyone that supported me and continued to listen to my talk about this.

So many thing happening

Where to start??? Well Saturday Rick and I went with G to our first SCA event and had a great time. Everyone was so wonderful. There was not a class that we took that someone really everyone) made us feel welcome. My husband who never dances with me took a class with me to learn some period dances. We had a great time and plan to do more dance classes. We are starting to plan out what we want for garb and I will be starting to make it soon. We would like to go to coronation if I can get the garb done by then.

I worked on the shawl on the way down to Rochester for the SCA event and while we were there. When the evening was almost over I got to the point where I needed to do tne crochet edging and cast off. I did that on Sunday and also did the 6 optional rows at the top of the shawl. I finish the shawl at about 12:00 AM and stay up to block it. I think it turned out quite well, I would make it bigger if I make it again. I will post pics later today.

On another note I started spring classes yesterday. This quarter I have Comp, Marketing and Microsoft professional II. This should be an interesting quarter as I am doing the Microsoft class online so I have more time and can go to knitting on Thursday nights.

Knitting update

Well I just made it to the half way point of the Icelandic shawl. This week Thursday starts finals. For my interpersonal relations class I have to do a presentation on Why I deserve an A in the class. The teacher wants it to be something unique that she has not seen before. I was thinking I could write something up and post it on here but thought no one else would want to read that. So what I have decided to so is have my small group of girls tell why I deserve an A in the class. I will be bringing a video camera to small group tomorrow and will ask them a a couple of question then let them have at it as to why I deserve an A. This should be fun and interesting as I can just imagine what 8 14 years old girls will have to say.

Well I just finished up writing a 4 page paper and emailed it to the instructor (I also had to bring him my flash drive and transfer the paper that way too. Because God knows if I can save to the flash drive and then email it I will not know how to copy and past it to another drive). We are just sitting here now waiting for the few people that have not started their papers and/or are not done to send them to him. Those are the people that only show up when they feel like it and do the work when they feel they want to and get to get full credit for turning them in when ever.
OK enough venting.

I started to work on the Icelandic shawl again. I have made a few market bags and will be making dish clothes soon for the camper. I am excited as after next week I my thursday nights back until the fall. I do not have a class on thursdays next quarter and I do not plan on taking any in the summer.

Tuesday again

Hello All,

I am sitting here in my Tuesday class really trying hard to pay attention and follow along with what he is talking about. I thought I would write a little before I start my research for the 4 page paper I have to write for next week in this class.

Well I finally finished my mittens, they are wonderful. I would say I will post a photo but everytime I say that I do not. I will work on having more photos of my finished work. I think I am going to break out the shawl again as the leggings that I wanted to do I think are going to take to much of my brain to figure out unless one of my wonderful friends at knitting figures out the pattern, yarn and needle requirments for me. I know Alley really would love to have a pair of them. But with school and family I just do not have time to do all the calculations.

As for the SCA, Rick and I are going to go to SUN which looks to be a day of classes. We have decided that we are going to take cooking classes and garb classes for the most part. Rich want to take a period dance class which I think will be great. I just don't know if he will dance with me at events, cuz he does not dance with me any other time. :)

Well back to work I have an assignment I need to get done and only have about 10 minute to do it.

I did a Tim Conway impression.

Well Nick and I are back from the church retreat. We had a great time. I maybe more so them him. I went cross country skiing for about 2-3 mile. I was doing so good we rounded the bend to the back half of the loop and I had not falling. I was so proud of myself cuz the last time I went I fell at least 15 times in the first mile. Well we hit another hill (mind you I had done 5 hills so far) this one was just a bit bigger (not much), we started to tell one of the boy to bend his knees and lean forward and away he went. My turn, I bent my knees started to lean forward and lost my balance and over correct and fell flat on my back. Think of Tim Conway on the Carol Burnet show when he play the little guy (Dorf?) and falls straight backwards, No bending. That was me, then I was laying in deep snow laughing my ass off. One would think that I would have hurt my back or head, right. Nope, leave it to me, I hyper extended my knee. Know I have a brace for my leg that I need to wear until the swelling goes down and the pain is gone. So we are looking at about a week. The brace makes life o much fun it goes from about 4 inches below my butt to about 4 inches above my ankle. The doctor said there were going to fit me with the short brace. Ok if this is the short brace where would the long brace be, i don;t think I want to know.

I did not finish both mitten on the retreat I did get one done on the ride up and about half of the second one done while we were there. So I think I will finishing it this week at Knitting.

Yarn Harlot and knit out

The Yarn Harlot will be coming to MN in April as a matter of fact she will be here the day after my birthday. I have already reserved two tickets. One is for Me and the other is for a friend from Knitting that is not able to get over to pick them up. I will be going over to pick them up tomorrow.

Saturday Alley, Rylyn and I went to the Knit Out we had a good time but we mostly stood in lines for stuff. We saw this:

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_egivKZ0-ljA/R7jdnLHKTsI/AAAAAAAAAD4/EcbRljKcuGU/s200/monkey+dress.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168124237475106498" />

It was amazing.

We have to go study.

Well I just took my first midterm for the quarter. I have one more tomorrow. I think I did ok. I was not as ready for this test as I would have liked. I will be spending some extra time tonight studying for tomorrows test.

Rick and I bought a camper on Saturday, pending repairs (it is a pop up camper) one of the seams have ripped out and they are checking to see how much it will cost to repair. Well I did some checking on my own today and will be going to take photos of the repairs that need to be made so I can email them to the repair shop. The price that was quoted to me was about $35 for fix. I hope that is the case as it will be a lot less then we were expecting. The camper is a 1997 Palomino Mustang. It has everything that I wanted in a camper. I was so shocked to find out that it was in our price range. We will be finding out what the cost the RV center got on Wednesday. We will hopefully making the final decision of what to do my Thursday.

Sunday we checked out the Archery practice with the SCA. I think the boys will really like it when they can shoot themselves. The loner equipment was not there, but show be the next few weeks. We are talking about going to the event that is Rochester in March. that should be fun and should give a better feel for the SCA.

Knitting I am still working on the hats for my small group girls, I have 3 left to make. I really wanted them done my Wednesday but I do not think it will happen. I also need to make a pair of mittens for myself before the 22nd as I need them for winter white out (church retreat). If I do not get them done before he 22nd I can work on them on the trip there it is a 4 hour ride with 80 junior high kids.

New adventures

Well, as you can see I did not post last night in class. We actually did something. We did a review for the midterm next week. I wish the instructor would have taught the last 4 weeks the same way as he did last night, quickly. I actually felt like it was not a complete waste of time.

On the Knitting front I have been working on the unoriginal hats for my small group girls. I have 4 of the 8 done. I should have the rest done by Next Wednesday. Which will be a good thing they were to be christmas present and it would be nice for them to be able to use them before winter is over completely.

My hubby and I have decided to check out the SCA. We are looking forward to finding out more about it and the different things we can learn. We think we are going to look at 16th century Ireland. (He wants to wear a kilt and that is the only time period I can find so far). I am excited to talk to G about it more at knitting tomorrow. We will need to find out more about what Nick will be able to do. But we talked to him last night and he is looking forward to it.

Well that is it for now.

I have three hour to update

Its computer information system time again. I have three boring hour to update the blog. I will not bore you again this week with what it not happening in this class.

This week on the knitting front I made Rick the fist thing ever. I amde him fingerless gloves. I have found that I like making them as I am able to get a pair of them done in less the a day. We went Sunday to knit N from the heart and bought 2 skeins of casade 220. One for Rick fingerless gloves and one for new mittens for me. I will start on the mittens for me this week if not before I will start them on Thursday after class at knitting.

On the spinning front. I have plyed, washed and wound the gray and white wool that I learned to spin on. I have also done the same to the pretty pink wool I have a really nice cake of pretty pink. I keep spinning the pretty pink into yarn.

We had an IEP meeting for Nick today, regarding what will happen next year for high school for him. Well let just say I have a really good feeling that I will be the state about the way this district is going to handle my son's education. I hate the fact that everytime there should be a good change they always make it into some way to get him into a different program. I will have more on that issue at a later date.

Well I should go and actually pay some attention to the instructor he is now ready to start trying to teach chapter 4. We are now an hour and a half into class and he is now getting to the new chapter. We have just been reveiwing how to create folders for the last hour.

bye for now

Here we are again

Well it is Tuesday night again and I am sitting in my computer informations systems class trying to stay on task, but as you can see I am not doing to well. If this guy was any more boring the class might actually start to snore. This class is actually interesting if he would move a lot faster and stay on track. For some reason he thinks we are computer stupid and that we don't know anything about computers. an example of is: were do you find my computer and how do you open a program? OH MY GOD we are not STUPID. I just had to tell him that if you have folder b in folder a you can not put folder a in b. DUH and who is the person we are paying to teach us??????? HEEEEELLLLPPPPP I am losing my mind in this class!!!!!!!!

On the knitting front I made a market bag using Liz's pattern this weeking. I made Ry a bunny out of the one skein book that I got from Emily for Christmas. It was a reaaly simple pattern to do. I made it in about 3 hour.

I have spent most of my time this weekend Spinning. I am so in love witn it, I am almost thinking it is more relaxing than (dare I say) knitting. I have to force myself to stop. I have a wonderful friend from knitting group that has helped me out to learn to spin. She is the person that I cought the drop spindle from. She was wonderful last week and brought me more beast roving. she told me I needed to finish spinning that before I could start on the really soft and pretty pink roving she brought me. Well I finished the beast roving in a short time, I have to say it looks pretty good if I do say so myself. (I will post pics later. No camera in class). I have it in a pretty little cake now I need to know what to do with it now (I think I need to ply it). I think by the time I get to knitting on Thursday night I will have enough of the pretty pink to wind off into a cake. I do need to find out what kind of wool it is exactly. My class are not the toughest but the amount of home work will be a killer for me. Monday night class is Intro to marco economics. We are doing a unit a night which is approx 4-5 chapters in a unit plus assignments. We will have a 5 page paper due at the end of class but we don't have all the information for it yet.

My Tuesday night class is Copmuter informations systems. This class is really easy but the hard part is to stay awake. As it is areally boring. This is were I am writing this tonight or I will fall alseep.

Thursday I have Interpersonal relations. I actually really like this class. I am learning a lot. Hubby and I are taking the class at the same time. He does not like it. I am going to have to write a paper as to why I deserve an A in the class for the final project. We will need to present this at the end of class. The presentation can be in different forms if we do not want ot talk in class. I was thinking that I would write it a put it on here. Then all of my friends can let me know if I have grown and deserve an A. HEHEHEH. This week in this class we have to write our mission statement. I have to start that tonight. I am looking forward to writing this to see if I will start to live what I write.

We as for knitting I have not really worked on anything in about two weeks. I have been slowly working on the Icelandic shawl one row at a time (or should I say a night) I still have socks on the needles so I should finish these. I might start market bags or dish clothes for gifts.

Rick bought me a new book by the author I like so I start to read that on Saturday and I should be finishing that tonight.

Well I should go and pay attention, hopefully he will stop talking and let us do something other than listen to him. snooooooze. (nothing like listening to a computer geek talk about 1's and 0's.) which by the way we do not need to know according to the syllabus.

2008 Knit Out at MOA

I have did not make this event last year, but I am really going to try to make it this year. It took only about 2 seconds to figure out the gift thing. When she was not opening her stuff she tryed to help the closest person. It was cute.

I am really glad that noone got carried away this year with buying gifts for others. I did make some last minute gifts. Last Thursday I started a pair of mittens for Josh but ended up making them into fingerless gloves for my niece. I then went to Joanns and grabbed wool ease to make Josh his, which ended up fingerless as I thought he would like them better. So I proved to myself that I can make Mittens in about a day for a pair as long as they are a simple pattern.

Rick got me my ball winder and an M & M racecar candy dispenser. I love them both. I have not played with the ball winder yet. I hope to play tonight.

I am looking forward to knitting tomorrow night as it will be the last time I will be there for the whole night for about 12 weeks and it is our christmas party.

YEAH!!!!! It shows that age has a lot to do thing how well I do in school.

Well I have off until January 3rd. Then I start another set of three classes, Interpersonal relations, Intro to Macroeconomic, and informational systems. I think I should do about the same in these classes.

On the knitting front I have been working on finishing Ry's sweater for Christmas. I might have it done, if not its ok. It would have been an extra gift. I still need to finish the second fingerless glove for Ry. I will have it done on thurday at knitting.

I need to get focused on some projets. I need to frog the sweater I was doing for myself and start it over. Now I have to present the report in front of the class. I hate this part. I get so nervous, I feel like I am the deepest shade of red, my heart pounds so hard I have a hard time breathing. I know their is nothing to worry about and most of the people in class feel the same way. I just do not want to do it. (pout, pout) :(:(. My paper is pretty good, so I shoudl do well on that part.

On the knitting front I made one (right hand) fingerless glove for me on saturday, I was going to make the other one on Sunday, but got this great idea to make some for Ry. Alley wore this dress when she was about a year and a half. Well this Thanksgiving I took it out of the closet and Ry wore it. We are going to pass this dress down. I was thinking that I might try to find yarn that would match and recreate the tam. I will be sending the dress to the cleaners as it has not been cleaned for a while and needs some TLC. I will then type up a list of approx. dates when the dress was worn and put it with the dress. I am going to seal it with the seal a meal so the air does not get to it. I hope that will help to preserve it.

Now onto two of my favorate parts of the holiday season. My Christmas village and my Christmas tree.
My holiday village started the year Rick and I got together. My mom started the village for us and we bought at least one piece every year. Other family members would buy us pieces too. We now have over thirty pieces. These pictures do not do the village justice, but here goes.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_egivKZ0-ljA/R1OPcfiiLOI/AAAAAAAAACo/3hgVhmx5-qA/s200/P1010031.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139609319425322210" />

My christmas tree is the a two day project to put up. I have an fake tree and as I put the tree up one branch at a time I put one light on each individual branch on the large branch. That adds up to a ton of lights. I have not counted the light for about 6 years but the last time I counted I had approx 2,000 lights on the tree. You can honestly read by the tree. I Love my tree. Today I went to my moms and got some of her ornaments that she did not want anymore. It was great I got ornaments that we on my moms tree when she was a little girl. Some of them were ones that were on the tree my whole life and that I bought for my mom. Again the photos do not do justice.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_egivKZ0-ljA/R1OSKPiiLRI/AAAAAAAAADA/Rx92gJZu-tU/s200/P1010039.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139612304427592978" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_egivKZ0-ljA/R1OSLPiiLSI/AAAAAAAAADI/a7N0de2fyZY/s200/P1010040.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139612321607462178" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_egivKZ0-ljA/R1OSL_iiLTI/AAAAAAAAADQ/Fg0NqLj3SgQ/s200/P1010026.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139612334492364082" />

Pampering is wonderful

Today I had my free massage from school. Well I feel great except for my shoulder blade that she really worked on. I will feel better tomorrow. Not shure if the bosses like the fact that I was not good for much today after the massage. I felt like Jello most of the day. I will be signing up for more massages when they are opened up again.

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. It is due in three weeks. so I thought maybe I should start. It has to be at least 4 pages with a power point presenation. When I present the paper it needs to be a minimum of 7 minute so I have a feeling it will be more than 4 pages. I have been assigned St. Jude Medical to write about. Since the start of class I have had to follow their stock, which by the way has dropped. I need to include why the stock did what it did no the paper, or least guess why it the stock dropped. Well I am on my way as I have one page just about done so I will try to write about a page a day for the rest of the week then I can edit it. I will more then likely have a couple of friends read it to make sure it flows. Other than that school is going great. I am getting really good grades in my classes.

We just registered for classes so next quarter I have Intro to Macroeconomics, Computer Imformation systems, and Interpersonal relations. These should not be to bad to do together. I was hoping to take the Comp class but it was only offer on a night I was not available.

As for knitting I am still working on the unoriginal hats for my small group girls. I now have only 3 done and I am going to run out of yarn on the fourth one (I know, Knit faster). I will need to wait until this weekend to get more yarn. I need to order yarn for christmas gifts, then knit the gifts. I have a feeling I will be giving the gift of yarn then knitting after christmas.

Soccer Tournements.

Well Nick team lost the both games at the soccer tournements this last weekend. I feel bad for most of the kids, they tried very hard. Their is one kid on the team that we have had run ins with. He thinks he is the best player on the team and wont pass the ball to anyone and when something goes wrong he gets in my sons face and tells him it was his fault. Nick does not even need to be near the ball for this kid to start telling Nick he should not be on the team, he is not good enough to play soccer at all let alone on the varsity team. My son and I have talked to the coaches about this issue and we are told Nick should just ignore him. Well, I now that I do not have any emotional disablities and I would not be able to take that on a daily bases. So how the Hell is a child of 15 (Mentally 10) to deal with this. Well on Friday night at in the middle of the game the kid got in Nicks face again this time pointing his finger about an inch from his face. I watch for a minute or so then was on my way to yell at the coaches when one went up to them to stop it. Well my son was very upset as expected and walked off the field. We finally got Nick to go back on the field, and the rest of the game was better. The coaches must have said something to the ASS HOLE (sorry don't like the kid) because he layed off Nick.

The next day before the game Rick and I went up to one of the coaches to make sure that they would be on top of this situation to make sure it did not happen agian. The coach that we were talking to called Nick over and talked to him about what he sould do if it starts again. Like it is Nicks fault. I told the coach that the other kid needs to be talked to also, and I was told that they talked to everyone. That was it, its like they only care to not upset the other kid. I am so angry that the coachs do not feel that this is a problem even though I have told them that Nick does not want to play (softball, which is in the spring)because of this kids. All they say is we need you. The Coachs asked me what they should do about this? Isn't that their job to know how to deal with bullys. I do not care if this is a team for kids with disablities or not harrassment is still harrassment and wrong.

Ok enough venting, Sunday the family went to the Water Park of America and had a blast. We found out Ry does not like water on her head and she love the family hot tub. We spent about 4 hours playing in the water and all came home exhusted. This was great family time.

On the knitting front I have made 2 1/2 unorignal hats. I still have 4.5 to make for my small group girls. I was hoping to have them done by Wednesday, but with class and home work I do not think I will be able to get more than the other have done. I will need to give Rach back her needs on Thursday, cuz I don't feel right keeping them longer as she also want to make the hats. I will go this weekend and purchase my own needles.

Misc thoughts

I need help as you can see I changed my colors. Now I have a wrench on the side bar. I did not change anything else, so how do I get rid of them?

I thought with the season changing I would change the colors of my blog. Well I am also still trying to figure all this out. I am hoping to add link buttoms but just don't exact understand how to do it. Well the updates will have to wait until after I am done with the chapter readings that I have to do for my Into to Business Class on Monday. Maybe I will do some reading and when I need a break I will try to figure this thing out.

On another note; Nick's Soccer team has their first state Tournament game tonight at 5:00 pm. This should be interesting as they are planning the #1 team from the North division and they are in 4th place for the South Division. This is the first time in about 4 years that this team is not going into the State Tournements in first place and they are really struggling with that. The games are held at Stillwater High School, which is nice as it is only about 15 minutes from my house. Well I will try to post pics this weekend.(sometime Mac does not want to give me my photos.)

Lisa posted about women doing "cat calls" to men. Lisa I have to agree with you that it is wrong for anyone to do that, and about the double standards, most men would not care and would more than likely think it was flattering to have a pretty women doing "cat calls" to them, but if the person(s) doing the "cat calling" is not their ideal person they get upset. Personally I don't think anyone should be doing it in the first place, but that is just me.

I finished one of the unorginal hats from Yarn Harlot, because I did not swatch before the hat is for Ry and will only fit for a very short amount of time, as it is small now. Thanks to Rachel I started another one with different yarn and borrowed needles from Rachel. I hope this will turn out bigger. Again I did not swatch so we will see what I get.

I guess this should be it for now I should really do some work.

Yeah mid terms are done

Well, last night was my last mid term. I am pleased to say I think I did very well. If things keep going the way they have been I think I will walk away with A's in all three classes. I am very happy with the way this quarter is going. We start to register for the next quarter classes on Nov 12th. I think I know that classes I want to take next quarter, Composition,Accounting 1, and MS office II. Again I will be short one credit to be considered full time but 3 classes is enough for me at one time.

Well for knitting. I frogged the shawl again. As I was changing colors I noticed that the pattern was messed up again. I think I will need to work on this when Liz is around to have her look at it to see if it is me or the pattern. More than likely it is me. I am working on finishing Ry's sweater. I am going to look in my stash to see if I have the yarn to make the unoriginal hat from the yarn harlot. I need a new hat and if it work out as well as I hope I might make some for christmas gifts. As I have not started any holiday knitting.

I have been working on updating my raverly site. only spend about a 1/2 hour working on it. So not much else done. I also have tryed to put a link on the blog but it did not work.

Happy Halloween to all

Tonight Rick will be home passing out candy. I will be taking Ry out cuz Alley and Ryan have to work. I will be making my way to Ry's Great Grandparents and my be some friend depending on what time it ends up to be. Nick will be going out for the last time as Ireally think 15 is getting way to old to go out.

When I get back tonight I need to do some studing as we are having mid terms next week. I did take one mid term last night and I think I did rather well. it was the best mid term I have taken. It was an M & M test. All the problems related to the bag of M & M the instructor hand out. I Love M & M's so that was way to cool.

I really am having a hard time with all my knitting projects lately. I want to frog them all. My shawl-can't get the pattern to set up right, Sweater- stopped working on it and forgot were I was, also do not totally understand the pattern. Sock- to tight. I am thinking I will start on the shawl again as it has been put away for a little while and I will be fresh.This time I think I will double check every row when I am done with the row to make sure it is correct. I really want to be working on that right now. I might also finish a sweater I started for Ry. I only have the front to do and it is really easy and quick.

Well I hope everyone has a spoooky Halloween.

Life is stressful at the moment.

We to update everyone. My mom's hip surgery went well. Unfortunely we were starting to see signs of her mental illness coming back. So it is evident that she is not taking her meds correctly or that they are not the right doseages. My opinions is mostly that she is not taking them correctly with a little that they are no longer the right doseages. So my sisters and I have to meet to decuss how we are going to handle this. We need to see if she would give my older sister and myself medical power of attorney so we can talk to the doctors about all the meds she is taking as we do not think she is telling all the diffent doctors what she is taken. (this is part of her thing, to not let anyone person know exactly what is going on, she must make sure you only know part of the story.)

School is going well for me, but not so well for Rick. He is going to drop one class as he is not getting it and has a tutor. Everyone that he talks to thinks it is he instructor as there are many that are not getting it in his class. So this is stressing me alittle. Also the fact that he is not working at the moment and the money is starting to run out is really stressing me. He is looking everyday and having interviews but nothing is coming of it.

Ok enough venting. I am currently working on my natilie sweater and a pair of socks. The sweater has been sitting in a bag since I started school but I plan to work on it this weekend or I will never get it done. The socks are just my mindless knitting that everyone needs. I am trying something new I am putting in a cable on the front side. So far I really like the way it is looking. I have never done cables before so this is really fun.

Well I should get back to work.

Back to school

Well last night was the first class. Intro to Business, should be fun, I have never had a class that on the first night the instructor expected that you would have ready the first chapter before ever setting foot in the class. Well, it went fine noone read the chapter. Unfortunately we now have 3 chapters to ready by next monday 106 pages. Should not be to hard unless the other classes I have Tuesday and Thursday do the same thing, because I also have other home work for the class.

I have started to pull the research for the paper I have to do. We were assigned a company to watch their stock and to write about what they do, decisions they would need to make etc. My company is St. Judes Medical. I was happy to get that company as I been interested in the company for a while.

Well I have a math class tonight(yuk) not my best subject. Well I need to get past this as I will have a few more math classes to take so I better get good at it.

Thursday I have MS Office Professional I. This should be fairly eaisy as I use office at work and home. There is plenty I will learn but it should not be to hard.

Well need to finish some things at work before I get out of here.

Not blog smart

Ok so I am not the smartest when it comes to this blogging stuff.I was reminded that some of you might went to know who I am on Ravelry. Well my name is so original: stephpknits. I need to work on being more creative. Also I still do not totally understand how you add link pics to the blog like amazon or ravelry. Liz was nice to tell me how to do this so I will be trying this tomorrow when I have some time. Wish me luck. I hope I do not mess things up.

I have updated photos on ravelry (which took me 45 mins to upload 2 stinking photos) I so meed to spend more time working on doing different things on the computer.

Ok Need to go to sleep so more tomorrow.

Ravelry

I made it into Ravelry. Nick started working at McDonalds. We are very pround of him for getting this job. About a month ago he came home from dinner at McDonalds on evening, and told us he wanted to apply at McDonalds. With his disablities we were not sure if he was ready and if he would get the job. Well he did and started friday night and is doing great.

Saturday we took Rylyn, Alley and Ryan to Afton Apple orchard. We had such a good time. Rylyn ate her first apple picked right from a tree. She really liked it. Later Saturday night she started to say appo. It was so cute.

Sunday Rick and I went to look at a house that one of my bosses have listed. On the way I told Rick we should start by looking at a home that we could really afford. So we went to an open house of another one of my bosses listings. Well we fellin in love with this house. We will be working on seeing if we can qualify for the mortgage for the house.

We had Alley and Rylyn over for dinner and dessert as it was Rylyn's 1st birthday.

Ravelry

I must be getting closer. On Monday my friend Rachele from knitting and I started to process the fleece that I was given by my boss.

She has one Sheep. The best Mexican food in town. I have worked on and off for them since I was 13 years old. I will be working Sat and Sun this weekend also. I is fun but by 4:30- 5:00 I am so ready to get off work and out my feet up. I had forgotten that when you have a job that you sit on your A** for 40 hours a week how much your feet can hurt when you all of a sudden decide to stand on them on concrete for 8 Hour a day.

On sunday we found out that Ricks uncle passed away and we had to go to Superior on Tuesday night for the Funeral on Wednesday. Alley had to work so we took Rylyn by ourselves, most of the family up there have not met her yet. We had a great time. We stayed at the Days Inns Bayfront. We had a room that faced the lake. As we were waititng for Rick's Girls to get to the hotel (they live in Clover, MN. about an hour from Superior) I was looking out the window and about twenty feet from our window was a beaver. (I will post pics later). When Ricks girls got to the hotel with the grandson Elijah and we all went swimming. We had a good time. I do not think that Elijah likes the water much as he did not spend much time in the water, On the other hand Rylyn was in a little floaty thing and was toling around the pool like it was nothing. She also likes to put her face in the water. I guess mom will need to get her into swimming lessons very soon.

The funeral was nice. It was nice to see some of Ricks family that we only see when someone dies. Isn't it a shame that families get like that when you only see them when someone dies or gets married. I wish we would stay in contact with some of them and get together more often.

I did get my yarn from Sarahs yarn on Monday so I started my Icelandic shawl. I am please with what I have done so far (which is only about and inch). I only worked on it on the way up to superior about 2 hours. I was too tired to work on it on the way home. I will be going to knitting tonight and will be working on it all night.

Now I need to vent.

Yeterday Rick's car needed a jump at 4:30 pm. He was at 494 and France. So I went to help him thinking it was not the best time to be going that direction but it wont be too bad. Until I get to 494 and 24th (by MOA) there I sit for 10 minutes not moving looking at the exit. Thinking should I get off and o the frontage road as far as I can? After 15 minute and I have moved one car length I decided to go for it. I kept thinking it had to be a really bad accident to make it so we did not move. As I was going past one to the roads that went over 494 I looked and there was a police car blocking the bridge. I thought or the accident is there so if I go to the next cross street I should be able to get back on 494. We I was not the only person that decided to exit 494 so the traffic was really bad. As I sat waiting to be able to move about 3 car lengths per light I hear on the radio that the problem was not an accident it was that our wonerful President of the United States was on his was to Eden Prairie.

Ok now that you know the details here is my event.

Who has decided that the President's schedule is more important than the rest of the world. I do understand that he needs to have protection and they need to close roads to keep him safe. But come on He was going to a fund raiser for someone, do ya think that maybe he could have arrived alittle earlier or maybe an hour later so he would not have stop the traffic on the south side of town. You know Eden Prairie has a small airport why could he not have taken a chopper there then drive to the hotel? It is a good thing that I did not have a child to get from daycare as I would not have made it in time. It took me over an hour to get from 494 and 24 th to 494 and France. I sorry but that is NUTS.

OK enough venting.

Sunday at the Zoo

We had a great day even though it was a wet day. Oh well, I lived this long without being on the site I can wait a little longer.

We this weekend we are hoping to take my car and dog to Globe Univerisity in Woodbury for a car/dog wash to help raise money for the students in the Vet Tech class to go to a pet sancutary. I hope it does not rain so they can raise a lot of money.

We are taking Ry to the Minnesota Zoo on Sunday. We went to the Library and got the free passes to the Zoo. I can't wait to see her at the zoo as she is really starting to show interest in things. The Farm should also be fun when she can pet the animals.

I am still waiting for my yarn from Sarah's Yarn. I did contact her today and found out the manufacturer has shipped her the yarn so she should be getting it in the beginning of next week so my should be shipping by the middle of next week. I can wait I want to start on that NOOOW. OK so I need to have patience. Which I am not very good at. I am really tired of working the socks that I started to hold me over. I have about an inch left before starting on the toes. I will be done with these by the time I get my yarn. I have only been working on them on Thursday Nights so the process is slow.

Crazy weekend

Friday night we had thunder storm that killed the power all over the cities including Alley (daughter) Apartment building. They lost power at about 4 am. So she felt the need to show up at our house at about 7 Am Saturday Morning, I really don't mind but I was up late reading a book that Rachele from knitting has lent me. The book is "My Sisters keeper". As I started to read this book I felt that I have read this before. ButI do not remember reading this as it is not what I normally would read. I asked Rachele to help me expand on what I read. I do like this book and will be looking for more books my this writer. Well

Saturday the family went to the Irish fair on Harriet Island. We had a great time. We watched the Irish dancers and decided that when Rylyn (granddaughter)get old enough to so try it we will do our best to get her started. Nick (youngest son) learned how to play Tara (Irish Game) and loved it so we are going to look at getting the game for him for christmas. I watched part of it and it looks interesting. Alley decided she wants to have an Irish wedding when she decides to get married.

Sunday we started out grocery shopping then we were going to go to the Zoo, but by the time we got done shopping and Rylyn was done with her nap it was already 2 and we decided that we would wait to go until next weekend and we would leave in the morning. Ryan and Alley are borrowing one of our cars. The only problem with that is the car they are borrowing has an electrical problem and sometimes decides not to start. So we have had to go over and jump start the car a couple times on Sunday. Which was a major pain in the a**. One time when we were going to go do this I was backing out of the drive to find I had a flat tire. NOT what I needed at that point of my day. When we got the tire change we found that I had a huge piece of wood in my tire. My Brother in-law brought us fire wood and left a mess in the driveway. What bothered me the most about it is that when we talked to him about the tire and the mess he just said "then maybe we should have been there to help him" I would have been happy to help him unload the wood if he would have called before he showed up. A Sorry would have been nice. But I guess that is to much to ask.

Ok enough complaining.

Painting and Moving

Well the weekend was a full one. With A and R moving out. Hubby, A and I spent the Saturday painting R's room (Teal and Raspberry Pinky purple) Pic to follow forgot the camera. Then we put up Little Mermaid decals. The room is sooooo cute. Of course Grandma and Grandpa went to K-mart, found a lamp and Valance with Little Mermaid on them so we had to buy them to make our Princesses room perfect. We then spent the rest of the day and part of Sunday helping them move more items over to the new apartment.

As for knitting I worked on my socks while Hubby and I went out to coffee with my B-i-l. I turned the heel and started the gussett. I am still impatiently waiting for my yarn for the Icelandic shawl.
